B. Sc. Nursing is a four-year undergraduate programme focused on developing critical care, advanced thinking skills, proficiency and values necessary for the practice of professional nursing and midwifery as mentioned in the National Health Policy 2002. The programme is streamlined to enable students to address the health needs of the nation, society and individuals. The programme prepares students to become responsible citizens by following a code of moral values and conduct at all times while fulfilling personal, social and professional responsibilities to respond to national objectives. Eligibility Criteria

For National Students : 

  • As per INC Guidelines-{Sr. Secondary (10+2) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (PCB) good knowledge of
  • English with minimum 45% marks (minimum age 17 years)}.

For International Students :

The eligibility criterion for all programs for international applicants is minimum 50% in the qualifying examination and having studied the pre-requisite subjects for admission in to the desired program.

Syllabus Break-up

FIRST YEAR (12 MONTHS)

BSc Nursing Subjects in the First Year comprises subjects like anatomy, Physiology, Respiratory system etc. Nurses must know everything related to the human anatomy, otherwise they not be able to assist the doctors or participate in patient care. 

SECOND YEAR (12 MONTHS)

BSc Nursing Syllabus deals with subjects like Psychiatric Nursing, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) Nursing, Role in Chemotherapy etc in the second year. Nurses learn more about other aspects of the field. this gives a holistic view of all situations that may arise. 

THIRD YEAR (12 MONTHS)

BSc Nursing Syllabus deals with subjects like Public Health Nursing and Health Administration, Maternal and Child Health, Sociology and Social Medicine, etc in the third year. Students learn more about dealing with the patient this year. These subjects help to improve communication skills and overall ideas about the patients. 

FOURTH YEAR (12 MONTHS)

BSc Nursing Syllabus for the Fourth Year consists of subjects like Philosophy of Supervision, Physiology of Labour, Preparation for Delivery etc. Students also learn about letter writing, spoken English, grammar, and basic things about operating computers like windows.
